10 Reasons You Should Own A Geo Knight DK20S

There are a number of heat presses on the market with a wide variety of prices.  In my opinion, you get what you pay for and the while the Geo Knight DK20S is not cheap it is worth every penny.  It is built to last and from my experience, it is very reliable.  I own three Geo Knight presses and my oldest is over 10 years old and it has never had an issue.  The following are the 10 reasons I believe you  should own a DK20S:

  1. Interchangeable tables for everything from sleeves to shoes.
  2. Store up to 70 heat programs on high visibility digital display.
  3. Can reach temperatures up to 600 F and can maintain a +-2F accuracy by using SuperCoil Technology provides even heating throughout the heat platen.
  4. Teflon coated ¾ inch heat platen.
  5. Integrated digital pressure bar graph with easy to use pressure adjustment.  Swing away design allows for even distribution of pressure.
  6. Can press a variety of materials up to 2 inches thick.
  7. Swing away heat platen allows for easier and more efficient material loading.
  8. Heavy duty construction, solid welded design.
  9. Free lifetime tech support and the lifetime warranty on heat platen.
  10. The Large 16×20 table comes standard, provides easy alignment of the transfer material.

Interchangeable tables for everything from sleeves to shoes.

The design of the DK20S allows for interchangeable tables providing you with a range of sizes and shapes.  One the most difficult things when using heat presses are finding a way to press the vast array of print locations.  Depending on the type of material being pressed you want tables that will not press permanent creases into the material. Especially when pressing 100% polyester shirts.  The DK20S has 12 interchangeable All Thread tables for everything from children sleeve tables to shoe tables.  No tools required to change the tables, they easily pop in and out in a matter of seconds.

Store up to 70 heat programs on high visibility digital display.

Unless you only print on cotton shirts you will have a number of different heat settings needed for all the materials you will be printing on.  You may have settings for Plastisol transfers at 325F for 8 seconds to sublimation settings at 400F for 31/2 minutes.  The programmable digital display allows for 70 programs to be stored and scrolled through with the touch of a button.

Can reach temperatures up to 600 F and can maintain a +-2F accuracy by using SuperCoil Technology provides even heating throughout the heat platen.

One of the best features of the DK20S is that the heat stays steady with very little change is high/low of the set temperature and the temperature is consistent throughout the heat platen.  So no hot or cold spots that will mess your print quality.  This press utilizes SuperCoil Technology to provide this even heating  If you have ever used one of those cheap Chinese heat presses you can buy on eBay you know what I mean by temperature fluctuations.  I do own a cheap heat press and it has temperature drops of more than 20 degrees at times.  This slows down the press cycles and if you are trying to make money with your press the Geo Knight will keep you in the black.

Teflon coated ¾ inch heat platen.

The heavy duty ¾ inch platen is coated with Teflon allowing for pressing on a variety of materials without sticking to the heat platen.  Nothing worse than the material sticking to the heat platen and ruining your t-shirt and then forcing you to clean Plastisol off a 300+ plus degree chunk of metal.

Integrated digital pressure bar graph with easy to use pressure adjustment.  Swing away design allows for even distribution of pressure.

Different transfer materials require different pressure when using the heat press.  The DK20S comes with very easy to adjust pressure setting, just spin the dial to increase or decrease the pressure.  The digital display has a built in pressure bar graph ranging from 1 to 10.  10 being the heaviest pressure.  The swing away feature on this heat press allows for evenly distributed pressure, unlike clamshell presses.  Makes it one of the best heat presses for sublimation printing.

Can press a variety of materials up to 2 inches thick.

The built in pressure adjustment dial also allows the user to adjust for different material thickness.  The Geo Knight DK20S can accommodate substrates up to two inches thick.  Try that with a clamshell press.

Swing away heat platen allows for easier and more efficient material loading.

Again if you are actually trying to run a business and make money with your press, efficiency is paramount.  The swing-away design allows for faster shirt loading adding to your bottom line.  Shirts can be loaded from either end and slide over the pressing table.  The press will swing 180 degrees away from the pressing table.  Ensuring you won’t burn yourself while loading shirts.  Presses that only allow for up and down movement are more likely to cause burns when the operator accidentally touches the platen.

Heavy duty construction, solid welded design.

The DK20S weighs in at a whopping 200lbs with heavy duty welding and construction.  This baby isn’t going anywhere once it’s put on a table.  Highly recommend that you purchase the DKA Universal Stand so you can wheel it around with ease.  The stand isn’t cheap but you will be glad you have it.

Free lifetime tech support and the lifetime warranty on heat platen.

When you purchase a press from Geo Knight you receive a lifetime warranty on the most important part of a heat press, the heat platen.  You also receive lifetime tech support, I don’t think you will get that from a random purchase of a no name heat press.

The Large 16×20 table comes standard, provides easy alignment of the transfer material.

One of the things I wish Geo Knight would implement for those of who do a lot of heat transfers is to provide an upgraded alignment system.  Something like they have a DTG printers where it simulates the neck and shoulders of a person would really make alignment much easier.  That being said If you have printed a lot of shirts on a small heat press you know the pain of getting your heat transfer straight on the shirt.  I started on a 14×16 press and adopted many techniques to make sure things stayed straight but I always ran into problems with large transfers.  The 16×20 table that comes standard with Swing Away DK20S allows for large heat transfers and makes it easy to align your designs with ease.
